The Age Numbers

The Age Numbers are the number of years a person has been on this planet. It is exciting when you are five and are asked to hold up your hand to show how old you are. The age numbers follow us throughout life. There are certain ideas and pressures associated with them. As the numbers increase, there are different milestones.

Milestones

The age someone is might determine what part of their journey they are on. A milestone is an event that is significant. Some might consider when a baby starts to crawl a milestone. That can be an exciting and stressful time for all involved. It is also impacted by the part of the world ones lives in, the cultural and family culture that surrounds a child. This article talks more about how culture impacts milestones.

Do We Let These Numbers Control Our Lives?

The quote, “How Old Would You Be If You Didn’t Know How Old You Were” by Satchel Paige is a great one, the numbers that we might focus on are not a reflection of who we are. We can get attached to what we “should” be doing by a particular age, where we should be living, what job we should have, what our personal life should look like.

The Vulnerability of Aging

This blog about being vulnerable is helpful. We are vulnerable at every age, maybe we learn to accept and honor it at different times. This short Ted Talk by Lux Narayan is great. It teaches, what we do between the numbers is important.
