Light in December

Light in December in Denver, Colorado is hard to find. It is winter and the amount of daylight is short. Sun seems to help with depression. These short days can be hard on people dealing with depression. We are short on light, in a place that loves it.

Where to Find the Light

Where can we find the light? A lot of the holidays that people celebrate this month include candles. Some houses decorate with strings of lights on the trees. I hope we can find the light in each other, and in ourselves.

Depression and Light

If you deal with depression, and the World Health Organization says that 300 million people around the world do, it can be very hard to find light. This article discusses what depression is and some more statistics about it. There are many suggestions out there to feel better or distract ourselves from depression. Here is a list: meditation, running, swimming, walking, taking a bath, watching a movie, seeing a friend, praying, knitting, staying in your pajamas all day, playing a game, gratitude, the list can go on and on. What would you add to the list?
